Ben Stokes, the captain of the England Test team faces a Hamstring injury
Ben Stokes has to leave the ground as the captain got injured during a match in The Hundred, raising national team concerns. Ben Stokes has to undergo various tests and scans before the test series against Sri Lanka.
Ben Stokes was playing for the Nothern Superchargers falling off against Manchester Originals but the player had to leave the field in between the match as he was hurt and was seen holding his left hamstring and needed support to walk off the field. The support of people on either side with him clutching his left hamstring was later spotted moving around with the help of crutches after the game. His skipper Harry Brook later confirmed the injury could be bad.
Harry Brook reported at the end of the match that unfortunately, the injury doesn’t look good, they will get him scanned tomorrow and see how is it.
Stokes was previously managing a knee injury on his left leg, adding another disconcerting note to this latest setback even as assessments are awaited. His return to The Hundred was set to last longer than four games if his team progressed, but the events of Sunday evening seem to have cut that short.
England are already missing the services of Zak Crawley for the Test series against Sri Lanka, where they play three games in 21 days.
