Rain Washes Out Entire Day of Pakistan-Bangladesh 2nd Test

The second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh was disturbed due to rain, the entire day was washed out in Rawalpindi.

There had been plenty of rain overnight in Rawalpindi which had initially delayed the start of play with puddles of water on the ground making it unfit for playing. Things took a turn for the worse when the clouds opened up again, further dampening the conditions. When it stopped eventually, and for a brief period, the umpires had an inspection before the first session was washed out.

Soon after with the rain returning, the entire day’s play was called off.

The first Test also played in Rawalpindi, also had its opening day affected by rain. With wet outfield delaying more than half the day’s play, it eventually began and Bangladesh went on to win the Test to create shockwaves in Pakistan cricket. The second Test had been moved to Rawalpindi after initially being scheduled in Karachi because of stadium renovation happening there.

With vital World Test  Championship points up for grabs, Bangladesh leads the two-Test series 1-0. Right now, Bangladesh is ranked seventh in the WTC, slightly ahead of Pakistan, who is ranked 8th.
